Poster depicts an honor flag fluttering in the breeze awarded by His Excellency the Governor General of Canada to districts who exceeded their quota of victory bond purchases. During World War I the Governor General of Canada represented the British Monarchy and British interests.

Great design portrays eager beaver hard at work toppling a birch tree by the light of the silvery moon. Starting with the lucrative fur trade, the beaver, a symbol of industriousness, together with the ubiquitous maple leaf, became an iconic symbol of Canada.

160. Anon: Victory Bonds Will Help Stop This. Kultur vs. Humanity.
The hospital HMS Landovery Castle was torpedoed in June, 1918. All 14 Canadian nurses on board were killed. Soldier carrying dead nurse shakes his fist at Germans who fired on lifeboats as the Castle sunk. Three men were condemned to death in the post-war trail for crimes against humanity.

161. Nicolet: "If Ye Break Faith We Shall Not Sleep"
A line from John McCrae's immortal poem In Flanders Fields provides the poster's title. With helmet cradled in his arm and rifle slung over his shoulder, a young Canadian soldier stands at his friend's grave. Brilliant carpet of red poppies highlights this touching scene. The poem is recited on Remembrance Day in Canada.
